Jang Dong Gun, a South Korean actor, has been in several foreign films. In 2005 he was in the Chinese movie “Wu Ji “ (Promise), and in 2002 he was in the Japanese movie “2009: Lost Memories.” Both roles required the actor to learn the necessary language, and now Dong Gun is learning English. He is currently working on the American movie “Laundry Warrior,” which will be released later in 2008. Dong Gun will appear beside renowned actors Geoffrey Rush and Kate Bosworth.

Dong Gun is most popular with his roles in “Friend,” “Nowhere to Hide” and “Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War,” garnering Blue Dragon Awards for the last two movies. His films are known to dominate South Korea’s box office records as the highest grossing Korean films of the year.

Aside from movies Dong Gun is a popular face in product advertisements, starring in commercials for SK Telecom, Nintendo and Samsung’s digital cameras.

Jun Ji Hyun will make her much anticipated U.S debut in “Blood: The Last Vampire,” a movie based on the popular manga. The South Korean actress who became famous in her roles in “Il Mare” and “My Sassy Girl” stars as the female lead, a 400-year-old half-human-half-vampire. Since it will be her first American film, Jun Ji Hyun has changed her name to Gianna Jun for the movie’s release.

Green screen action:

2008 is a big year for Gianna, as she has been absent from the silver screen for two years. Her spreading fame inspired collaboration with famous jeans brand “True Religion” and helped design 12 different cuts for Korean women. The “Gianna by True Religion” line, which was released in early March 2008, is sold exclusively on 11st.co.kr.

This year Gianna also starred in a South Korean movie that came out in the beginning of the year, called “A Man Once a Superman.”

She can also be seen in the 17Tea and Anycall Haptic commercials.

When a star comes out with an album called “It’s Hyorish,” you really begin to wonder if the publicity agent is in their right mind. But it does mean one thing for sure: Lee Hyori is back.

After a two-year silence, except for a single released in early 2007, Hyori is returning with her third album, “It’s Hyorish.” The album jacket and photos, which were leaked on the Internet before their official release, showcases influences of pop art and Hyori clad in little clothing, respectively. The singer will feature fellow ex-Fin.K.L member Ock Ju Hyun, who recently came out with an album of her own: “Remind.” Hyori’s album will be released some time in July.

Hyori has also shown interest in becoming the next top woman MC. Though last month she dropped her host position on the SBS show “Change,” she is still a member of the “Sang Sang Plus” regular cast. Her show “Off the Record” also presents a different side to Hyori. The series lets viewers see what Hyori does in the comfort of her home and what she’s like beneath all the make-up.
