Big Bang is packing the heat. Just last week the five-member South Korean group released their third mini album, “Stand Up.” The five track mini album includes notable collaborations, especially by Daishi Dance and No-Brain. The leader G-Dragon composed four songs while the fifth song, “A Good Person,” was composed by T.O.P. It’s good to see the members back together after Tae Yang released a solo album, Dae Sung released a Trot single and Sung Ri appeared in musical Sonagi. Not to mention, G-Dragon and T.O.P were featured in Uhm Jung Hwa’s “DISCO.”

Big Bang - Haru Haru MV (english-subbed)

On the day of the mini album release, Big Bang also released the M.V for their song “Haru Haru” (Day by Day), which shows G-Dragon and T.O.P in heavy eyeliner and fighting over a girl. On mnet’s Top 7, Big Bang has managed to sweep the top three spots, “Haru Haru” hitting number one and “Heaven” and “A Good Person” following close behind. The group expands their musical talent, giving a go at rock in their fifth song, “Oh My Friend.”

After Big Bang’s appearance on SBS’ Inkigayo on the 10th, the members will now focus on promoting their new Japanese single “With You.” But one member will join the group later. Dae Sung is currently filming for “Family Outing,” a show that consists of families in the countryside who go on vacation and get replaced by the “Family Outing” MCs. And of course hilarity ensues.

Lee Seon Gyun is one of South Korea’s more underrated actors. The deep-voiced 33-year-old rose to fame after his role in the 2007 drama hit “The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince” and movie “Our Town,” but has been on the scene since 2000. His official debut was in 2001, with the musical “Rocky Horror Picture Show.” His next big appearances were in the 2005 dramas “Loveholic” and MBC Best Theater’s “Taerung National Village.” Two years later, he appeared in “White Tower” and the widely popular “Coffee Prince.”

Seon Gyun’s most recent drama, “My Sweet Seoul,” which is based off the popular book written by Jeong Yi Hyun, just finished airing August 1. If you’ve seen the drama, you’ll be able to catch Seon Gyun’s captivating voice in the opening song. His next project is movie “I Feel Lucky,” where he stars alongside Lee Min Ki, Eugene and Lee So Kyung. The romantic comedy will be released by the end of 2008.

The sizzling South Korean model and actor Kwon Sang Woo is no longer a bachelor. He’s set the date for September 28, 2008, and will marry actress Son Tae Yong, who was introduced into the entertainment business after coming in third at the 2000 Miss Korea pageant. At a press conference in July Sang Woo announced the wedding and said, “She is the biggest energy of my life. She makes me laugh, and makes me have hope.”

Sang Woo became popular after his role in the 2003 film “My Tutor Friend.” Later that year he appeared in one of the most popular Korean dramas, “Stairway to Heaven.” Following these monumental roles, Sang Woo has continued to gain popularity. In 2004 he was in “Once Upon a Time in High School” and “Love, So Divine,” two very different movies requiring flexibility in Sang Woo’s acting. In 2005 he was in the drama “Sad Sonata” and in 2007 he was in “Bad Love.”

In March 2008 Sang Woo reprises the role of a gangster in film “Fate,” where he betrays best friends in order to climb the gang ladder. Sang Woo bares his chocolate abs in the film, a sure win among his fans. But I wonder how the fans feel now, with Sang Woo’s up-coming marriage?
