That’s Ahn Trio – three sisters (Maria, Lucia and Angella) who are redefining the art and architecture of chamber music, breathing new life into the standard piano-trio literature with commissioned works from visionary composers like Kenji Bunch, Maurice Jarre, Nikolai Kapustin and Michael Nyman. The trio’s latest CD, Lullaby for My Favorite Insomniac (recorded by their own label, L.A.M.P), is a showcase of this vibrant and original music.

Possessing an enviable combination of talent and style, they have long been natural subjects for the international press. They made their magazine premiere very early on, in Time’s cover story, “Asian American Whiz Kids”. They have gone on to frequent fashion pages of the likes of Vogue and GQ. Many Asian stars are appearing in the Hollywood scene for the first time. Rain (Bi), a famous South Korean singer who is also known for his role in popular Korean drama “Full House”, plays an amateur car racer in the movie Speed Racer, which hit theaters May 9. But he doesn’t stop there.

Rain is currently in Germany filming his next film, Ninja Assassin, which is produced by the same brothers who produced Speed Racer. The film, which does not have an estimated release date, features Rain as a young man who learns to be a ninja while growing up in an orphanage. Photos of his training and filming have been released and the Clouds, Rain’s fan group, will be delighted to see him working hard for his first main role in the U.S industry.

Aside from the filming there are rumors that Rain will release a new album before the year ends. This will certainly boost his publicity as his last album, “Rain’s World,” was released in 2006. Rain has a lot on his plate for 2008 so make sure to keep an eye out for him!
